THANK GOD FOR PIONEERS, SOLDIERS AND SERVANTS!

We all have cause to be thankful for the men and women who helped shaped our lives!

Pioneers

Anyone who lives in a home or drives on a road has pioneers to thank. They have moved into lands overrun with forests and trees and cleared them for those who would one day build houses on that land or pave roads on them.

The areas of life where pioneers went ahead in medicine, technology and other fields are too numerous to name! We all partake of their willingness to take risks and do the hard work to allow others to benefit in the future - often with little or no thanks or loss of lives!

Soldiers

How can ever thank soldiers for defending, saving or liberating those in danger or in prison? Many a young man has lost his life in his efforts on behalf of strangers.

Servants

Those who serve are often considered inferior or less deserving than the "elite." This is a great miscarriage of justice because so much of what we have is from the hands of those who were willing to labor so we wouldn't have to!

Some servants are forced to labor which is also a great injustice. But many have served us by choice ready to do the unpleasant so-called "dirty work" so we could be at ease!

Christian Pioneers, Soldiers and Servants!

If we would allow our minds to be awakened to the price that has been paid by Christians for our benefit, our hearts would overflow with thanksgiving!

Thank God for the many faithful pastors, teachers and mentors which have spoken into our lives! They prepared themselves, labored over sermons and faithfully delivered their messages from God! How hard it is to do so consistently over many years or even decades in some cases.

I still hear their messages echo in my mind even from those I have not seen in years!

Thank God for the musicians who tirelessly prepared to present Holy Worship to the Lord, encouraging us to follow them to the throne of God!

Thank God for Christian Pioneers who started works which blessed many, and in some cases are still doing so years later! Many others risked their health, families or personal comfort to clear the path for us!

Thank God for Christian Soldiers who were burned at the stake for insisting on truth or were killed for preaching or distributing God's Word! Thank God for "plodders" who continued to labored in anonymity with very little human reward!

Thank God for Christian Servants - church parking attendants, ushers, counters, prayer warriors, secretaries and more, who faithfully made our times in church as smooth as an experience as possible!

We may not realize the price that is often paid for those who serve the Kingdom of God.

9 For I think that God has displayed us, the apostles, last, as men condemned to death; for we have been made a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to men.

10 We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are dishonored!
11 To the present hour we both hunger and thirst, and we are poorly clothed, and beaten, and homeless.
12 And we labor, working with our own hands. Being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure
13 being defamed, we entreat. We have been made as the filth of the world, the offscouring of all things until now.

The life of the Christian PIONEER, SOLDIER or SERVANT is not  always an easy one. Sometimes it involves risk, suffering and difficult laboring!

There are many who never received earthly accolades, rewards or wages commensurate with their efforts!

Take a moment to honor those who labor among us! Ask God to show you how hard they have worked and the price they have paid!

Thank someone who has been a blessing to youSome who have blessed you the most may no longer be available for you to thank.

Then find someone who is and let him or her know how much they mean to you and how they have blessed you!

It's likely in many cases, that they never receive the thanks they deserve!
