All Christians know we that the body of Christ should be in unity.
There are two main ways to do this:
1. Accept and tolerate every point of view so we can all get along.
It has been said that if you put 100 people in a room, you will have 100 different opinions. Accepting every point of view seems like a good ideas until you realize you are not really in unity.
2. Learn the correct point of view.
If we all have the same point of view, there will be absolutely no disagreement or dissension on any issue!
The latter, not the former is God's plan for unity!
Heaven is not merely an imaginary ideal to inspire us to keep striving to make things better. Many are resigned to the concept that heaven just a "fairy-tale" for the young or ignorant! Many even consider those who believe in heaven as "weak" or "needing a crutch."
With that in mind, many accept the notion that life will always be miserable, but perhaps they can form a moderately decent world through compromise, blending many opinions into one. There is no hope is for the glorious, new heaven and earth promised in the Word of God. The only vision of hope is for something we can accept rather than embrace and look forward to!
THE REAL HEAVEN!
Conversely, the heaven God created is real and glorious!
It is a place where we all have the same mind!
Paul wrote on this topic:
...fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Phil 2:1-2
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.
Phil 2:5
15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.
16 For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
1 Corinthians 2:15-16
GETTING ALONG!
Christians should be examples of how to get along!
It is to be understood that when we have differing opinions, we should try to be at peace with those who have opposing views:
14 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.
Hebrews 12:14
18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.
Romans 12:18
A HIGHER LEVEL OF UNITY!
There is one level of unity which comes from being at peace with others and "getting along."
But you can see that a much higher level of unity exists when we all have the same mind!
It is a beautiful thing when we cooperate with each other!
Yet it cannot compare with the transcending, glorious, joyful unity of God!
We can see now why God does not and can not allow everyone into heaven!
If He did, we would have a world very much like the one we live in right now! It would be a place where there is arguing and fighting. We could try to get along but there would always be an underlying sense of division!
Heaven will not be a place where everyone has my point of view! It will not be a place where everyone has your point of view!
HEAVEN IS A PLACE WHERE EVERYONE HAS HIS POINT OF VIEW!
8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.
